The representation and diversity in Last of Us 2 was part of a larger pattern of "controversy" that I felt it was important to give the queer perspective on. The blowback to representation in media doesn't just affect gays and lesbians, it hurts women, people of color, trans people, Jews, and every other minority you can think of. Incidentally, it's also not great for white men, since lack of diversity makes their stories more boring.
