Ace the Bat-Hound, or simply Ace, is a well-known character in the "Batman" franchise, based on the eponymous American comic book series published by DC Comics, where he plays the role of Batman's pet, friend and partner, originating with Batman finding him on the street after his escape from an illegal dog-fighting operation, where he protected him from a gang member that intended to rob him, and then deciding to take him into his home and care for him, leading to the development of their close friendly relationship.
