Deep beneath East Germany lies one of the largest underground bunkers ever constructed by Nazi Germany during World War II. Built beginning in 1938, this vast multi-level complex was designed as a secret research and production facility tied to chemical weapons development, with involvement from IG Farben and the SS. Hidden underground long before heavy Allied bombing began, the bunker later became sealed, dismantled, and repurposed during the Cold War, leaving much of its true purpose classified for decades. In this investigation, we move beyond the bunker itself and into the surrounding landscape where sarin nerve gas was developed, produced, and supported. Forests, abandoned industrial buildings, transport routes, and auxiliary structures around the main underground complex formed a much larger system — one designed for secrecy, containment, and large-scale chemical warfare. And again questions as to what happened to it all must be asked..
