The Bike We All Wish Yamaha Would Make

Well it's missing the estart, but I'm thinking I'm finally on the right track to give the people what they want. I'm calling this the WR250X haha. It's missing a few components to give it more bottom end, but I finally got my hands on the hard to find WR transmission. They are still floating around out there on ebay and I'm sure you can find some of the bikes still that these trannys came in on marketplace. The bikes you can get these trannys from are the WR400 and WR426. Not 100% positive if it was the same transmission in the WR450 which came after. With the X gearing, first and second match the MX bike. The 3rd gear is lower and then 4th and 5th are higher. I swapped out first and second gear essentially to actually have more of a wide ratio transmission. I now can do the extreme technical stuff in first gear, second gets a little lower as well, but I still have a good top speed 'transfer' gear. Went from running a 12 tooth up front to a 13 which I prefer for overall rideability and a 'freer' rear end. I keep getting closer and closer to the finish line now. The only problem is that Yamaha doesn't have anymore in stock, so I will have to wait for custom gear sets. Someone in South Africa does make them so I may have to get my hands on their gear sets for my other bikes. We can only hope that all my effort goes to something good. Would love to see this sort or of base platform back on the market.
