Ideal for wildlife safaris, birdwatching, and nature photography. 🐾 Wildlife You Can Spot Mammals: Sri Lankan elephants, sambar deer, axis deer, toque macaques, purple-faced langurs, sloth bears, and occasional leopards. Birds: Spot-billed pelicans, painted storks, cormorants, and endemic birds like Sri Lanka junglefowl. Reptiles & Amphibians: Monitors, pythons, crocodiles, and endemic species like the painted-lip lizard. 🌳 Landscape & Habitat Grasslands, scrub forests, wetlands, and abandoned chena fields. The Minneriya reservoir is the park's lifeline and key attraction for wildlife. 🚙 Safari Info 4x4 jeep safaris are the best way to explore.
