FOUNDATION THE TABERNACLE GOLIATH • Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf • Binder: Mexican San Andrés • Filler: Nicaragua and Honduras • Factory: Tabacalera AJ Fernandez A beautifully constructed perfecto, the Foundation The Tabernacle Goliath is finished with gorgeous bands. The artwork is amazing. The cigar sports a wrapper that is dark in color, true maduro, and it has small if any veins present throughout. The texture is slightly gritty and I am picking up aromas of rich earth, chocolate cake, tobacco and cedar. The wrapper on the Foundation The Tabernacle Goliath is dark brown, slightly lighter towards the foot, with some lightly raised veins present. The seams are very smooth and the tapered head and foot are decently finished. The cigar has two bands with the primary being the traditional design for the line. The secondary strip band carries the vitola name as well as the measurements in a similar color combination to the primary. The aroma from the wrapper is lightly damp wood and dark chocolate while the foot brings wood and light sweetness. The pre-light draw brings nicely aged cedar and a dry wood experience on my lips.
