Stop That Dancin' Up There was released August 28, 1944 by RCM Productions, and distributed by Soundies Corp of America. The film was a Panoram, meant to be shown in Panoram video jukeboxes which were popular during World War II. Music is provided by the Joe Reichmann Orchestra. Kay Starr was born Katherine Starks on July 21, 1922 in Dougherty, Oklahoma. Her mother was Irish and her father was full blooded Iroquis. She was popular during the 40s and 50s and always performed with the best bands such as Bob Crosby and Glenn Miller. Her career actually began when she was only 15 singing with the Joe Venuti Orchestra but she could pnly perform during the summer months as she had to attend school. She passed away in 2016 in Bererly Hills. Jimmie Dodds was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1910. He moved to Florida to work in radio and then to California to be a songwriter. He is still recognized today due to his many years on the Mickey Mouse Show during the 1950s. He would sing, play his guitar, and on each show, read a Proverb and give an explanation of its' value in everyday life before Christianity became shunned by showbiz. Seemed that there was far more tolerance and freedom of speech decades ago that can be seen now. Jimmie died in 1964 in Hawaii from cancer.
