Designed by D'Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism, the Atrium is located on a one-acre site in downtown Victoria, and comprises approximately 20 000 square metres of office and retail space spread across seven levels. The aim of the video is to spotlight best-practice placemaking and urban design, using the Atrium as an example. Often placemaking is thought of in terms of larger projects or more public spaces, however, the Atrium provides a wonderful example of place making at a building scale and, more importantly, as part of a private development.
