First Solemn High Mass of Canon Cosme Montjean 30.07.2016

Today we had the privilege of welcoming Canon Cosme Montjean back to St Walburge's for him to offer his First Solemn High Mass of the Tridentine rite. We were also pleased to welcome several seminarians and Priests to the Mass. Canon Montjean was assisted by Canon Altiere, Canon Montjean senior and Canon Tanner as sub-deacon. (Unfortunately I pressed the pause button by accident for Canon Altieres' Sermon, the tripod is new and is taking some getting used to!!!) The Mass was magnificent and majestic, and certainly one that praised and magnified Our Lord Jesus Christ. A lot of work was done by Canon Altiere and Canon Poucin to make this a memorable day for Canon Montjean. When Canon was Abbé Montjean, he spent many months with us here at St Walburge's so it was indeed an honour to witness his first Mass, and we hold him very dear to our hearts, and we hope to see him again in the future. Canon Poucin was the organist and choirmaster. The choir were in fine voice this morning.
