Road Runner? Really? This Volare is a Road Runner? Where's the hemi? Where's the four on the floor? Where's the beef??! The Volare is no muscle car, sadly. But it has the same name as one. Confused? Remember, every hero is over the hill at some point. It's too bad that the malaise era sucked the life out of all our favorite nameplates. Plymouth was no exception when they slapped the venerable Road Runner moniker on it's replacement for the Valiant. This one seems to have had some goodies added to it, but who knows if it's enough to overcome the dreadful fate of being relegated to brown grandma car status for the rest of its days. Or perhaps there's light at the end of the tunnel. Could this be the ultimate sleeper car. The aftermarket hoodscoop sort of ruins the pure sleeper look, but with a powerful v8 massaged for serious street performance, there may be hope for this 70s stinker.
