The French humanistic travel documentary series Les Routes de l'impossible tells the story of people who take great risks to make a living by driving vehicles (cars, trucks, boats...). In this issue: The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with a land area of 2,345,000 square kilometres, is Africa's second-largest country after Algeria, with Kinshasa as its capital, and an official population of 86.89 million in 2019, making it Africa's fourth-most populous country. The country is divided into 26 provinces, with 254 ethnic groups, and was devastated by the Second Congo War, which began in 1998. The war is also known as "Africa's World War" because it involved 9 African countries and about 20 armed forces. Despite the signing of a peace agreement in 2003, fighting continues in the eastern part of the country. The war has killed 5.4 million people since 1998, mostly from malaria, diarrhoea, pneumonia and malnutrition. #documentary #documentary narration #documentary #African documentary #Africa #Incredible Journey #Documentary #BBC documentary #Fringe documentary #Liberia #Civil war #African wars #Congo
