EDIT: Hindsight is 20/20. If your over level 85, you would want to reforge right after you purchase your LI to bring it up to your current level first before adding traceries. Otherwise, you won't be able to purchase the correct level traceries for your LI. Kevin Plays LOTRO: How to Convert Your Old Legendary Items to the New System with Traceries Today we're converting our old legendary item over to the new system with traceries. Below is the link to the wiki describing the process. https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Lege... 1. Clear a little room in your bags - you'll need it. 2. Open the legendary items panel (SHIFT-I) 3. Select each legendary item and select the "Appraise Item" button on the lower right. Note that the Ancient Scripts may go into your wallet, and there is a limit of 10,000 Ancient Script at one time, so take your time with appraisal, you don't need to appraise all items at once. 4. Click the claim button to accept. This will NOT destroy your weapon. You can equip and use it if you wish to - but it will no longer advance. Ancient Scripts will appear in your wallet (if you have one). The other items will appear in your bags - which is why you need the room. 5. Visit the Archive of Traceries (Gobeth Teithian, the Archive of Traceries). 6. From the NPC - barter for your new legendary weapon and class item. Unequip both of your old legendary items (otherwise the new ones will be unequippable), and then equip the new ones. 7. Click on the bookshelves about the room to barter for and slot traceries to your legendary items. Be sure to select the highest level tracery that you can. LOW LEVELS: If your level is below 86, when you reforge, your LI will change to be closer to your level. Be careful how you spend building materials, and if you run out, remember that there are Legendary Item building quests and instances throughout Moria and beyond. For example LI Title Quests . This is less of a problem for higher level characters. Hover over your hold legendary item and select 'H' if you wish to keep a dialog of your old items stats to help you select traceries for your new legendary item. You cannot apply "Unique Use" traceries more than once to anything you have equipped. (e.g. equipped class item and weapon cannot have two of the same "Unique Use" tracery.) 8. Once all traceries are applied, now upgrade that tracery by dragging enhancement runes onto your new weapon. Consider dragging Rare runes before Incomparable runes. Also pay attention to the level of the runes, as you may not be able to apply lower tier runes if your weapon has exceeded the rune's tier. You can retain and equip your old legendary items if you wish to compare battle performance with your new legendary items. However - your old legendary items will no longer improve with use as they once did. You may also consider deconstructing them to recover bag storage. You can still apply legacy replacement scrolls to to your older legendary items. Bridles are not yet part of this conversion. Recommend keeping your old iXP runes, star-lit crystals and such in your vault as SSG may offer a conversion for them in the (hopefully) near future to comparable tracery items. Some quests and mission rewards still give these items. Store them if you have the room.
