Colloquial English Speaking (How People Really Speak English)

Colloquial English is an additional, informal range of language that people speak in local areas of native English speakers. People who speak English in a particular part of the world (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, etc) have a "general" vocabulary range (i.e. the language that all English speakers use), and they also have a more specific vocabulary range (i.e. particular language that is common to speakers from their particular area). Fortunately, much colloquial language is shared across many native English speaking areas, but a lot of colloquial English vocabulary is not shared. To be a successful English speaker in a particular part of the world, therefore, you need to learn the informal language that is used generally across the world as well as the colloquial language that is particular to the region you are in.
