Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan talks about brand endorsement, films, career, etc. Chak De! India is a Indian sports film, directed by Shimit Amin and Rob Miller (sports scenes). It explores religious bigotry, the legacy of the partition of India, ethnic and regional prejudice and sexism in contemporary India in a fictional story about the Indian women's national field-hockey team which was inspired by the team's win at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The film stars Shahrukh Khan as Kabir Khan, former captain of the Indian men's national field-hockey team. After a disastrous loss to Pakistan, Khan is ostracized from the sport and he and his mother are driven from the family home by angry neighbors. Seven years later, to redeem himself, Khan becomes the coach of the Indian national women's hockey team and aims to turn its sixteen contentious players into a championship unit. Chak De! India won a number of awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. On 30 August 2007, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences requested a copy of the film's script for a place in its Margaret Herrick Library. When the Indian Hockey Federation was reorganised in April 2008, former player Aslam Sher Khan said that he wanted "to create a 'Chak De' effect" in Indian hockey. Shah Rukh Khan, is an Indian film actor, producer and television personality. He started out his career by appearing in several television serials during 1988-1990. He made his film debut with the commercially successful Deewana (1992). He began to achieve success at the box office from his villainous roles in films such as Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993), and Anjaam (1994). During his years in the Indian film industry, he won eight Filmfare best actor awards, which is highest by any actor and had significant box-office success. Some of his films include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Chakde! India (2007). Even with all the success and a statue among the elite in Madame Tussaud's, he is quoted as being one of the most humble and down to earth personalities although his wit is unmatched by even the best in business. This has led to him being a host of many television programmes, game shows and award functions including India's version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'. The King is an active philanthropist funding numerous humanitarian projects and charities as well as being personally involved in them though he prefers to keep this aspect out of the lime light. His larger than life persona continues to win hearts all over the world with a fan following going into billions. He is the face of brands such as Pepsi, Tag Heur and has a 8 billion dirham property development project comprising multiple residential towers in the UAE named after him called 'Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard'. He co-owns two production houses 'Dreamz Unlimited' and 'Red Chillies Entertainment' and the IPL Cricket team 'Kolkata Knight Riders'.
