They're just regular old ideas. And that means we can talk and reason about them like any other kind of idea. In this video, we make the case that variables can be thought of as being the entire number line, all at once, and that equations are just constraints that make that space smaller. We also show how you can visually combine equations using "and" and "or", in exactly the same way that you would use Venn diagrams for other kinds of ideas.
