Strider was a captain of the Northern Rangers, also known as the Dúnedain of the North, the Dúnedain were lords of long life, great power and wisdom, they protected the paths from the forces of darkness and patrolled the northern lands to hunt and fight against the enemies they encountered. During all these travels, fate crossed him with Gandalf the Grey, and a great friendship was established between them. At the Council of Elrond, he formed the Fellowship of the Ring in which he participated in the fight against Sauron.
