Despite ongoing frictions, the United States and China remain deeply interconnected. Total goods trade between these two economies exceeded $580 billion in 2024, ranking amongst the largest trade relationships in the world while hopes for collaboration are renewed following the recent US-China leadership meeting in Busan. In view of economic and security considerations, what are the likely diplomatic and economic landing zones for these powers in the coming years?
