The Crystal Ice Cave, which is in Idaho near the Kings Bowl volcanic formation, was once a popular attraction presenting the convergence of geological and the science of freezing. This magnificent ice creation was produced inside a volcanic fissure, not in a lava tube as would be expected, and as such, it is unique. Tourists can gaze upon its bizarre, storybook like wonder, where icicles as large as walls could still be seen today and constantly blowing air kept the cave frozen. The cave was discovered in the 1960s by a miner named Jim Papadakis, who chiseled through the basalt rock to build a passage to the cave. This ensured that thousands of tourists were able to visit the site, escape the summer heat, and, most importantly, have a look at the phenomenon. However, although most tourists flocked to the site, few insisted on paying money to visit the cave due to its inaccessibility. Due to these problems, it became necessary to close the cave permanently after the BLM assumed management of the area in the early 2000s. Hazardous for the public: This itself has become slipperiness, structural something having stood time and a strain of mold, danger of collapse. Today, the Mississippi Palace has been left to go back to its natural form as a reminder of Idaho’s past concerning volcanos and geology, the Crystal Ice Caves. Unfortunately, it cannot be visited today, but the great history of this place can still be recalled. The second cave we visit in the episode is Bear Trap Cave. I hope you enjoyed the video!
