Beauty and the Beast Floating Rose

I was commissioned to create the floating rose from Beauty and the Beast for a client. He wanted the rose to look magical and as close to the movie/cartoon as possible. I crafted the base from poplar plywood and faux painted it to look like marble. The rose blossom was purchased but then modified and painted to make it sparkly. I added grain of rice lights to the blossom and crafted the stem and thorns from brass. The rose "floats" on a clear plexi rod and wires are run from the blossom down the stem and under the base to 2 AA batteries and a switch I create myself.
