Here are three present-day examples of how this works, explained simply for children: 1. Planning a Surprise Imagine you are planning a spectacular surprise birthday party for your mom. If you walk around whispering about a "party" or asking her what her favorite cake is, she will guess your intentions and the surprise will be ruined.
