Welcome to my boat building channel! This is my trawler restoration of an Albin 27 pocket trawler. Every couple of weeks I post a boat building or boat repair video to document various boat projects, sailboat restorations, or boat repairs. This episode I discuss various composite materials I have used in parts of my boat building. There are a lot of interesting composite materials that open up a world of possibilities for various boat projects. I discuss Coroplast, Coosa Board, HDPE King Starboard, PVC Foam Board, Celtec, Komatex, Sintra, and Fiberglas G10. I also talk about building boat cabinets out of Celtec or PVC foam board using the Screw & Glue Method. This week I cover a Nav Pod and Refrigerator Stand Celtec boat building project. There were reportedly 500-600 of these boats manufactured. The Albin 27 is trailerable and weighed approximately 6,500 pounds from the factory. It is a true pocket trawler with a forward and aft cabin, galley, head, and pilothouse helm.
