The Irish drove the Vikings from Ireland in 902 AD. In 914 AD, Jarl Ottir the Black resettled Waterford. In 917 AD, Vikings Ragnall ua Imar and his cousin Sitric Caech brought their separate fleets to Ireland. Ragnall claimed Waterford from his subordinate Jarl Ottir the Black. Sitric Caech and Ragnall ua Imair defeated the Irish Army led by Irish High King Niall Glundub. Sitric Caech captured Dublin, and reinstalled the Ui Imair Vikings in Dublin to rule it. In 937 AD, the Ui Imair King of Dublin, Olaf Guthfrithson, conquers the rival Limerick Vikings and convinces them to join him on his invasion of Britain.
