The bones of this waterrower is very similar to the more expensive models and in my opinion it looks just as good as the higher priced models. The hydrow is probably the most popular rowing machine, which doesn't have real water and doesn't sound or feel the same as real water rowing. Similar to Peloton Ergatta has grown in popularity with its at home subscription based fitness platform. The ergatta price is in the same ballpark as a peloton bike but the subscription plan is currently cheaper. If you want a water rowing machine but you don't care about the big screen that comes on the ergatta and you don't want to sign up and commit to the ergatta rowing machine experience you can buy a waterrower and get a very similar beautiful rowing machine that makes soothing water noises while dodging the monthly membership price. Hydrow also charges a monthly membership fee to use it's services similar to ergatta. I bought this waterrower because I want to see how it compares to the previous magnetic based rowing machines I have tried, namely the proform rower from costco, as well as the echelon rowing machine I tested out in a costco store as well. So far I feel like the waterrower real water resistance feels significantly better then the proform rowing machine from costco. This rowing machine feels much more authentic and genuine to a real rowing experience to me, and I also find the real water to be in general a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. As I spend more time with this waterrower and buy more rowing machines I will be able to comment more on the feel and workout experience of this exercise machine vs other rowers. The waterrower is similar to the ergatta in the mechanics, but the ergatta is more similar to the hydrow in the connectivity. the Hydrow rowing machine is much different since it does not use water and has a different class style. Many people love both ergatta and Hydrow, but the monthly expenses on top of the equipment can be one downside to each of these popular rowing machines.
