Autumn at the Arboretum, one of the Southwest’s largest fall festivals, runs September 17 through October 31, 2022. We spend some good time in Pumpkin village and continued to explore the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The Dallas Arboretum has something for everyone. The world-class, seasonal festivals and exhibits help you to reconnect with beauty. An Arboretum is an area devoted to specimen planting of trees and shrubs. Distinct from a forest, nursery or park, it is in a sense an outdoor museum of trees. It is a place where many varieties of trees are grown for research, educational, and ornamental purposes; where trees and shrubs are cultivated for exhibition. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is spread across 66-acre located at 8525 Garland Road in East Dallas, Texas, on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake. Which is 20 miles from our place, Plano. White Rock Lake is a reservoir located in north-east Dallas, Texas. The lake was formed by damming White Rock Creek, which today widens into the lake before continuing south out of the spillway and emptying into the Trinity River. The lake covers 1,254 acres(5.1 km2) in the east Dallas community. A nationally acclaimed 66 acre display garden features breathtaking floral displays all year long. Nestled on the shores of White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum was named "One of the Most Breathtaking Gardens in the World" by Architectural Digest. Dallas Blooms festival boasts of over 500,000 spring blooming bulbs, 3,000 azaleas and hundreds of Cherry Blooms-February-April. Summer in the garden includes an outdoor concert series on Thursday evenings and numerous water features with breathtaking floral displays. Autumn at the Arboretum-September-November features a nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village featuring over 90,000 pumpkins/gourds/squash and named one of America's Best Pumpkin festivals by Fodor's Travel. The 8 acre Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden was designed to connect children with nature. Education is a central focus the gardens mission, which teach life and Earth science with 17 indoor/outdoor galleries and 150 interactive activities - Where science and fun become one. Open seven days a week and Wednesday nights until 8pm from March-October. Seasonal weekday discounts are available. The garden is closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. #dallas #dallasarboretum #whiterocklake #pumpkinfestival
