The Bloodletting North America tour that I was on with Defeated Sanity came to a close this weekend and I just want to say that I'm eternally grateful that the guys in DS had called me for the opportunity to fill in with them on the first few weeks of the tour. They're a great bunch of dudes and learning this music really helped me push my right hand technique to a much higher place than it was before. During the same session that I filmed the video for Return to Samsara, I also recorded a version of another tune that we were playing live called Drifting Further. This tune is from their very first record entitled Prelude to the Tragedy and showcases the proggier side of DS which is why they chose to play it for the Dharmata set. It was originally in C standard but for this video, and for the live set, we played it in standard tuning like the rest of the Dharmata material. This was recorded, filmed and mixed at my buddy Anup Sastry's killer home studio in Frederick, MD. All editing was done myself. Also be sure to follow myself and Exist on....
