The Taghavi House stands as a prominent example of Qajar-era architecture in Gorgan, featuring over 10 distinct courtyards that transport visitors back in time. Spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, this historic residence includes various spaces such as outer courtyards, a kitchen yard, stables, and traditional verandas known as "Mahtabi," once used for food storage. The architecture blends introverted and extroverted styles, utilizing materials like wood, brick, and plaster to adapt seamlessly to the humid northern Iranian climate. A unique feature is the "Kolāh Farangi" pavilion in one of the courtyards, highlighting the house's historical political and commercial significance during the Qajar period. For a pleasant experience, visitors can relax at the "Jan o Del" café within the complex, offering a traditional ambiance and a diverse menu. Additionally, the souvenir shop provides an opportunity to purchase local mementos. A visit to the Taghavi House offers not only cultural enrichment but also insight into the region's history and architecture.
