I was pleased to welcome count Michael von der Schulenburg, MEP, onto to the show, on the day that the US and Israel have launched a war against Iran seeking regime change and the installation of a puppet government that they can control. I PREDICT THAT THIS WILL FAIL. We spent most of our time talking about the decay of the European Union and its complete fixation on fighting a war with Russia to the last Ukrainian, despite all of the evidence that it is losing and will lose. We also talk about the need for pan-European security dialogue and a return to diplomacy with Russia. However, the institutions and governments of Europe are populated by people of such low quality, personality and intellect, including Merz, Macron, Starmer, von der Leyen and Kallas, that this seems a distant hope. Europe could be great. The risk, however, is that it will not survive the war in Ukraine in its current form. Although if change means creative destruction and a slimming down of its powers and competence, that may not be a bad thing. Prior to entering the European Parliament, Michael was a senior UN diplomat for 35 years and has worked on countless global conflict situations. With other leading German figures, he recently wrote open letters to Kaja Kallas and Roberta Metsola, calling for pan-European security talks and for a re-establishment of diplomatic dialogue with Russia.
