Neoadjuvant therapy for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma: a promising approach

Prof. Harrington highlights that neoadjuvant immunotherapy can maximize anti-tumor immune responses, improve local control, and prevent systemic disease recurrence, particularly in patients with difficult-to-operate tumors. This approach may also make surgery more feasible and better tolerated by patients, and may lead to future studies investigating various combinations of immune checkpoint blockers and chemotherapy for high-risk disease.
