🎙️ 2025 National Rodeo Hall of Fame Oral History Interview 70th Anniversary Class 🎖️ Inductee: Mike Hudson, Ben Johnson Memorial Award Winner Michael E. “Hud” Hudson, born in Houston, Texas, began competing in youth rodeos in junior high, rodeoed at Sam Houston State University and later served six years in the Texas Army National Guard before a four-decade career in the animal health industry. A lifelong leader in rodeo preservation, he served on numerous boards including the Rodeo Historical Society and the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame, where he later became president and launched scholarships and special-needs rodeos. A PRCA Gold Card member and 2011 Hall of Fame inductee, Hudson also spent nearly 30 years as a Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo committeeman and now lives with his wife, Kimberly, on their ranch in Bowie, Texas. This interview is part of the 2025 induction class of the National Rodeo Hall of Fame*, commemorating the *70th Anniversary of one of rodeo’s highest honors. Recorded as part of the *Rodeo Historical Society Oral History Project*, this conversation preserves the life stories, careers, and firsthand experiences of rodeo cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation.
