Looking to get a bit more out of your recovery? Or graduating beyond the lacrosse ball but don’t need a massage gun? Then get a massage ball or peanut! Which one should you get? That’s what we answer in this video. Now usually things that are more expensive are generally better based on all the things we’ve reviewed on our other channels. BUT for these massage balls, certain brands are charging a massive premium to put their names on sub-par products. So here’s are the Top 3 (with Amazon links. They’ve been shortened using our links from our other channel): #1 Sidekick Fuse (https://mreh.ca/3tDuaLW) #2 Vive Vibrating Massage Peanut (https://mreh.ca/3dlNKqy) #3 Triggerpoint MB Vibe (https://mreh.ca/2Q7LeeA) We’re not sure if the Fuse is on Amazon (the Vive is) which is basically the same as the Fuse minus the nice silicone cover. Lacrosse Ball 6:31 Peanut or Ball? 7:51 Usage 9:03 Final Rankings Design In terms of design, these products are very similar. They all have diameters that are much larger than your standard lacrosse ball and all contain a rechargeable battery of sorts. Some products have a texture to them while other’s are almost smooth. In general, the products with a bit of texture were easy to use and lean into. Every product had at least 3 vibration settings with most having 4 (a rolling vibration based on intensity). When it comes to price, there were products that were as cheap $38 and capping out at $150 dollars. Difference between a lacrosse ball? The biggest difference between a lacrosse ball and a massaging peanut/ball is the diameter. The lacrosse ball is almost unforgivable when used on our backs. The larger diameter of the massaging nuts and balls allows you to ease into the pressure and the vibrations are like a shotgun effect, rippling through your body. At the end of the day, it just provides a better recovery experience when compared to a lacrosse ball. Peanut or Ball? So do you go with the double-balled ball or the single ball? Or pick goes to the peanut because it offers everything the ball offers and is easier to use because of the crest between the two large ends. So here’s the full ranking with reasons why we ranked them the way we did: #8 - Compex Molecule Compact Vibrating Massage Ball Remember at the beginning of the video we said that being more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better? We paid $150 dollars for this tiny ball and it has one of the weakest motors, minimal texture and the product goes off if you roll on it. #7 - Vive Vibrating Massage Ball This was one of the cheapest product we bought. Like the Compex product, the Vive ball can be turned off if you roll on it the wrong way. #6 - Wolady Vibrating Massage Ball It may be the cheapest product in the list BUT it’s also the weakest and the texture of the ball is very uncomfortable. It’s hard to put your weight into the ball with all the hard nub texture. #5 - Hyperice Hypersphere Mini Another extremely expensive product that doesn’t perform at its price point. We just can’t justify recommending you spend $150 on this product that has average texture and an above average motor. It is one of the stronger ones in the video but still, $150 bucks? O wait, Hyperice does include a plastic disc to rest your Hyperice on while it charges. #4 - Rolling with it Professional vibrating peanut massage ball. The funny thing about this product is the “professional” part. There is nothing professional about it since the product looks identical to the Vive product and parts of the Fuse. As we mentioned earlier, we like the peanut better than the ball design but we paid $144 for this product. Still a bit too pricey for what it is given that there are better products in this list. #3 - Triggerpoint MB Vibe If you’re looking for the strongest vibrating massage ball, get the Triggerpoint. We paid around $100 dollars for this ball and it’s the strongest product in this video AND it doesn’t turn off when you’re getting intimate with it. #2 - Vive Vibrating Massage Peanut This is the best deal in this video as it’s strong as the #1 product in the video and it’s priced decently. The only gripe that we have with the Vive Vibrating Massage Peanut is that the lack of texture is makes this product a little harder to use. #1 - Sidekick Fuse Vibration Therapy Device It’s a bit pricier than the Vive peanut BUT the apex trigger points makes the Fuse a little easier to use. The Apex trigger points spread the vibration across a larger area and there’s a bit of give on the points which makes the process of leaning into the device more bearable.
