The box is well designed, and if you are occasionally checking some drones online, then most certainly you’ve at least heard about the brand Hubsan. The package is well designed, with most of the technical details appearing on both sides of the box. Flight preparation is easy and quick. There’s at least one thing that Hubsan do similar to DJI – and this is the requirement to have a smartphone involved. This is the only possible way to take off. Furthermore – you have flexibility – you may use the smartphone only, or use the controller attached to it. If you plan to mainly use the transmitter, you have to connect it, via the smartphone app. Navigate to settings, and locate the corresponding menu. Going back to the controls and based on everything described so far – the connection to the drone, no matter via smartphone or transmitter is WiFi. The Wi-Fi used seems to be boosted Wi-Fi – similar to what the DJI Spark has. Even at 60 meters away there were zero drops of the FPV footage and the drone was as responsive as it performs when 2 meters away from the phone. The drone also has follow me mode – not the same as "Axtive Track" on the DJI Spark. The mode is measuring and maintaining the distance between the drone and your smartphone, so no matter how quickly and where you go, it is going to follow. Note that on both sides GPS has to be on. This solution has advantages and disadvantages, but let’s say that this basic implementation is rather good here. We’ve covered the hardware specs, the flight performance, so we have two more major components left. The battery is surprisingly good. While Hubsan say – 10 minutes, I managed to fly up to 12 with recording on most of the time. Although 650mah capacity sounds like not enough, the drone actually has decent autonomy time. And – time to rate the camera… these oversaturated colors are here to do something – to mask the jello and shakiness. The 2MP sensor does a moderate to good job. Knowing there is now the DJI Tello – we can certainly wish for more out of the camera.
