What happens when 9 kids share their favorite rocks? You get amazing stories, big curiosity, and a love for science that starts with something simple — a rock. Join me and 9 other "rock stars" as they discuss their favorite rock stories! From sparkling quartz to mysterious lava rocks, these kids remind us why geology rocks — literally! I hope these stories inspire you to think about your own rock stories and just how cool rocks can be. Thanks for watching! Welcome to my video series, "Every Rock Has A Story". Find additional educational resources linked below (click 'SHOW MORE')! Hosted by Boston College Professor Ethan Baxter, each 5-10 minute episode conveys the story of a rock with topics spanning oceans, volcanoes, dinosaurs, outer space, climate change and more. The videos are intended for children grades K-5 but they are fun and appropriate for all, including older kids, adults, parents, and teachers. Feel free to "Like" and "Subscribe" if you wish. I hope you enjoy! This episode is one of seventeen filmed during summer of 2021 at the Center for Digital Innovation and Learning at Boston College, made possible by a grant from the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society at Boston College. These episodes include a diverse slate of co-hosts and kid contributors who share their own rock stories. Many of the rocks and stories presented would not have been available without support from the National Science Foundation that has funded field excursions around the world and the science of extracting these stories.
