Blackburn Fork of the Warrior River

The Blackburn Fork of the Warrior River begins at the bridge along House Road, just off of Country Road 15. From here this trip begins with a calm, scenic route past caves before heading into a few drops. After these drops you will need to eddy out and scout a line, or portage around Pall Mall Falls (Class V), respecting the land that you will be portaging across, as it is private land. Make sure to check water levels are near 3 feet and scout the area if you decide to run the falls. After this section, you will enjoy class III rapids into Class I, then onto a scenic flat as you float towards the take out along Country Road 15 bridge. If you park along the road side at the bridge, you run the risk of getting towed. Be sure to park your shuttle vehicle at the corner of Deavers Town Road. Use the gauge under the bridge at the put in to check that water levels are near 3 feet to run this section.
