HOW TO FIX A SAMSUNG WASHER NO POWER ON SURPRISE! In this video, I'll show you how I fixed our Samsung Washing Machine WA65H4200SW. From one flawlessly working moment to the next, the machine wouldn't show any sign of life. Pushing the POWER button gave no lights, no beeps, no anything, 00:13. What exactly was going on under the cover? After poking around with the control board with a multi-meter I came to the conclusion that the small power supply board on the left side of the control board had failed since it only gives a short blip of voltage upon plugging in the washer, 02:52. Getting to the control board was relatively straight forward, 01:26. Most of the harnesses and wire ways were quite orderly and arranged for a quick swap-out of a control board. The actual service of the board wasn't so easy with plastic potting sealer encapsulating the PCB for weatherproofing against wash tub moisture, 04:14. My first checks were for fuses or breaker points, but I wasn't able to locate any fuse or automatic breakers. It became irrelevant to pursuit the fuse interruptions since 220VAC was registering at the input harness to the dual voltage power supply PCB. It certainly took a bit of familiarizing myself with the design since 5v and 12v are stepped down for circuit logic, while 220VAC is fed into the relays operating pump and cycle functions controlled by the lower voltage logic circuits. This means multiple harness and power feed points were attached the board to sort out. The left side of the board was for low voltage control while the right side of the board is 220VAC in/out. There was no physical damage or locked pumps or switches locking out any sort of logic control initiation. Most likely any electronic damage was due to voltage spikes or brownouts common to the Bacong region of the Philippines. After digging out the small dual voltage power supply board from the potted plastic submersion and not seeing anything remarkably wrong, 04:14, I was able to drop in a cell phone wall charger, piggy-backed with a 5 volt to 12 volt step-up converter, 04:30, to get our Samsung Top Load Washer working again. When those lights came on, 03:28, and the chirpy little tune it made before it died came back again it was truly a fabulous moment. I may try to repair the board I took out and swap it back in upon success. Or maybe we'll buy another board when we get budget. The fix shown in the video has been stable and working for months under normal use. The machine has been working every day for the past couple months. For those looking for a control board replacement, I found the same control board today for sale here for quite a bit less than I said in the video: http://www.xetremotecontrol.com/index... for $33.79 or 1,621.92 Pesos. This is a reasonable price, and almost half the $60 quote I gave. Shipping is another thing and the technician to install it could very well surpass the quote I gave. I hope you enjoy watching the video. I apologize for the mismatch of Peterson Journey in the footage rather than Peterson Tech. I was not sure if I would start one main channel or break them into more specific channel topics, since my aspirations flow after many subjects. After producing the video I changed my mind and created Peterson Tech for this and other technology related subjects.
