Coyote bites child on hand in the latest in string of attacks in the Seattle area

A series of alleged coyote attacks in Bellevue's Factoria neighborhood has prompted the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to increase patrols in the area. On Tuesday evening, the WDFW said a coyote bit a child on the hand. The child was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released the same night. WDFW officers responded swiftly, locating and killing one coyote while a second coyote escaped. The WDFW said efforts are ongoing to locate the second animal. Earlier that same day, a coyote attempted to bite children waiting at a bus stop, tearing clothing and trying to take a backpack.
