The Sweet Sixteen, the third round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament, the SIU Salukis faced the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas came out on top in the end, but the Dawgs gave them everything they could handle. The 2006-07 Salukis featured a lineup of star guards Jamaal Tatum, Tony Young and Bryan Mullins, and forwards Randal Falker and Matt Shaw. Other team members included guards Wesley Clemmons, Tyrone Green and Josh Bone, and forwards Tony Boyle and Jamaal Foster. The team would turn out to be among the best in the history of Southern Illinois University basketball, ending with another run to the Sweet Sixteen and a record of 29-7. It was the height of the era known as “Floorburn-U!”
