Michael Rosen Eddie and the Nappy | POEM | Kids' Poems and Stories With Michael Rosen Eddie hates having his nappy (diaper) put on, so I have to chase after him. This poem begins with Michael telling Eddie that it's time for him to get his nappy (or diaper) put on, Eddie doesn't like getting his nappy put on so Michael has to chase Eddie around who's running around with fat rubbery legs and has a wicked grin on his face screaming in an attempt to escape Michael who's trying to catch him whilst screaming "Nappy, nappy, nappy. I'll get you, I'll get you" until he's able to catch his son. Once Michael is able to catch Eddie he lays Eddie on his knees and takes his nappy off in order to put on a new one. Eddie gargles during the process of Michael taking off the pins from the nappy while waving his pudgy little legs in the air, taking the opportunity Eddie kicks Michael on the chin 3 times. Once Michael has cleaned up Eddie it's time for him to put cream on Eddie's bum to prevent him from getting nappy rash; since the cream is left on the windowsill it's cold, Michael informs Eddie that it is time for the cream to be put on his bum so Eddie responds with "NO CREAM!" Michael takes a blob of cold cream and slaps it on Eddie's bum with Eddie responding with a loud "OH!" Michael finishes putting the nappy on Eddie and then Eddie flees on his little rubbery legs going "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Who is Michael Rosen? My first book for children was called Mind Your Own Business and it came out in 1974. Quentin Blake did wonderful line drawings for it. Ever since then, I’ve been doing these things: Writing books Writing articles for newspapers and magazines Going to schools, libraries and theatres and performing the poems in my books Helping children write poems and stories Making radio programmes, mostly about words, language or books Appearing on TV, either reading books, or talking about books Teaching at universities about children’s literature Running workshops for teachers about poetry In any week, I might be doing all of these things! To tell the truth, I don’t really know what I’m doing tomorrow, unless I look in my diary to see. #Michael Rosen #Kids #Poetry
