Chibwawa Yo Sashila | Pumpkin Leaves | Authentic Zambian Vegetable Join me as I prepare Chibwawa Yo Sashila — a delicious Zambian vegetable dish made with pumpkin leaves simmered in a rich pounded groundnut sauce. This is one of Zambia’s favorite traditional meals (and a personal favorite), packed with flavor and cultural pride! Ingredients: 1 big bundle of fresh chibwawa (pumpkin leaves) thoroughly washed and cut 1 small tomato (chopped) 1 medium onion (chopped) 1/2 cup pounded groundnuts 1 tsp soda 2 cups water Vegetable oil Salt, to taste Tips for Success: Use fresh chibwawa (pumpkin leaves), I prefer to buy my chibwawa in the morning from the market when it is still very fresh. If your groundnuts are not very fine sift them further before adding them in to avoid a grainy tasting sauce. Whether you’ve grown up with this dish or you’re discovering it for the first time, this video will walk you through each step — simple, authentic, and full of love. Let’s celebrate Zambian cuisine together! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more traditional recipes from Zambia and beyond. Drop your favorite way to cook chibwawa in the comments!
