During this sensitive period in Syria, we entered the Shiite neighborhood; from there we visited the tomb of Hz. Zeyneb, the tomb of Muawiyah, the tomb of Bilal-i Habeshi, and climbed Mount Qasiyun. Details about Mount Qasiyun (Jabal al-Qasiyun): • Geography and location: It is a mountain with an altitude of approximately 1,151 m rising northwest of Damascus. Its peak, which overlooks the city from a dominant angle, has gained importance throughout history for strategic and defensive purposes. • Cave of Blood and the Station of Habil: According to legend, Hz. Adam’s son, Kabil, killed his brother Habil here. The cave where the incident took place is known as the “Cave of Blood” or “Cave of Habil”; Habil’s tomb is also located in this area. Cave of the Prophets: Located at the summit, this cave is considered a sacred place where many prophets worshipped. There are old inscriptions and small niches on the inner walls. • The Harut and Marut Story: It is also shown here as the place where the two angels mentioned in Islamic sources were punished by being hung by their feet for teaching people magic. These visits allowed you to experience the historical and religious richness of Syria firsthand.
