All jokes aside, kids, the summer is almost over! That's right, it's been nice but very short as usual. It's time to start thinking about some warmer crafts. No more watermelon juice dispensers, summer recipes and things alike. It's time to think winter! Especially now, when the ICE AGE is coming... You heard it right. Slime Sam saw al the signs! Pizza can't be warmed up in a microwave, the hot water in the shower turned to ice as well as water in a glass on a kitchen table. And a weird squirrel is running around with a nut. What else might it be? While Sam was panicking Sue received a nice looking package all covered in stamps. What is it, what is it? - Sam asked. It's a solution to your problems, my dear friend! - Sue replied. After unboxing it she showed a giant pile of giant yarn to concerned Sam. She wanted to arm knit a warm fuzzy blanket using this merino wool she got. Let's face it, Sue loves herself a good wool craft;) The beauty of this kind of knitting is that you don't need anything else except your own two hands and a bunch of wool. It's a no-sew, hustle-free and fast way to get the coziest blanket you have ever seen. It's really easy to make once you get a hang of it but arm knitting requires all of your attention. You'll need to watch a tutorial very closely not to miss a loop. Sue herself got confused so many times it made the jelly Sam laugh! Now Sue got a beautiful piece of home decor, a cute hand craft to keep her warm at night and she knows how to make a blanket from scratch. She is using a beautiful color that is kind of a mix of aqua, turquoise, and teal. But you can use any other color or even multiple colors. Depending on the type of yarn you'll be using you can dye your blanket too! Tie-dye will look great or just get those special paints that can go onto anything. Check the label first, some types of yarn require very gentle approach and can't be dyed or even washed. This soft like a cloud luxurious blanket will be a great gift for anybody and for any occasion! Make a blush pink throw blanket for your mom, knit a navy blue blanket for your dad and a sunny yellow one for your grandmother. Or maybe you'll master this technique quickly and will be able to knit more difficult shapes like a sweater or a scarf. Either way, this chunky knitting DIY looks so cozy and soft that whoever gets it will want to wrap themselves up in it right away;) Do you know what merino is? It's a very cute kind of sheep! It's been around for over eight centuries and is praised around the world for the quality of its wool. A little bit about the qualities of the merino wool. Merino wool is known for its softness, high quality, and moisture management. It breathes better than any other fiber and has an incredible ability to naturally retain heat and cold. So merino wool blanket is not only for winters, it's a four-season kind of thing! Merino wool is also very durable and resilient which makes it perfect for people who like to keep and use their things for a long time. It's odor resistant, itch and static free and dries quickly if it gets wet. Merino wool also naturally protects from sun exposure. It's a full package, right? The only disadvantage of this kind of wool is that it can be on a pricey side. But again, if you use it for many years it's a smart and economical purchase after all;) By the way, merino wool is not the only kind that will work for this DIY project. You can also use angora wool, mohair, alpaca fiber, lambswool or synthetic. The price range varies as well as the qualities so make sure to compare different kinds before purchasing.
