The Devil’s Rocket, a go to Carp fly adapted from Ryan Mock's Carp Maul. If you are interested in fly fishing for Carp or tying Carp flies this one's for you. Developed two seasons ago this has quickly become my most productive Carp pattern. It's been responsible for more than half my catch rate in the past two seasons. Drag & Dropped in front of tailing or bottom cruising Carp is a deadly way to fish this pattern. For shallower water swap out the bead chain eyes for faux pearl eyes and for deeper water use 4mm hourglass eyes. The pattern also works well with red silli legs tied in at the head and laying back to the tail but more and more I find I'm favouring the speed of tying without the legs and rarely see a drop in catch rate.
