As seen through the lens of my old Canon Cam WADAIKO (SEIDO TAIKO) - Morning - Copenhagen Sakura Festival 2018 - April 28, 2018 Langelinie - Copenhagen - April 28, 2018 This is the third year in a row that I have had the pleasure of being present at this magnificent performance! These well disciplined guys are again in very good shape, and seem as if they never will age! Seido Taiko is a goup of 16 young persons practicing in Valby, Copenhagen Seido is a Karate branch of Martial Arts. Here, the exercise is to play the Taiko, aka Wadaiko, Japanese for drum, as a "Kata", a series of more or less simple/complicated balance, coordination and controls of one's movements! Those sticks and beats seem quite innocent! Beware! If you see them in the hands of a trained practitioner, don't go too near! The shouts are to frighten/destabilize/stress the opponent/s. The Copenhagen Sakura Festival, this year, the eleventh, to celebrate the blossoming of the 200 Cherry trees, donated, 11 years ago, by a Japanese Businessman who made his fortune selling Danish Pastry in Japan!
