Oxford Rail Road/Rail Landrover Defender. An overview of the customisation of an Oxford Rail Road/Rail Landrover Defender to enable it to run under its own steam on OO/HO gauge layouts. The first half of the video looks at my initial thoughts about to potentially approach the project, while the second part looks at the finished project and each individual component. While this video looks at most of the steps required to convert the diecast model into dc use, it's quite a complicated project in design terms and it's not possible to show everything in detail. The key considerations and steps are touched upon, with a short introduction to designing the various components in Sketchup. This should enable the confident modeller (with plenty of patience!) to undertake a similar conversion themselves. Items required for the project are: Oxford Rail road/rail Landrover Bachmann Trackster (Jeepster or other short wheelbase versions only) 3D Printer PLA+ or ABS filament (PLA will work as well, it just has a slightly lower softening temperature) Deluxe Material Liquid Gravity Rocket Card Glue Cyanoacrylate glue (superglue) 2mm drill bit & drill Various tools, including: jeweller's screwdrivers, small side cutters, exacto knife and modelling saw.
