Manipur Violence Latest: House Set Ablaze Following Tragic Killing of 9 Civilians

Imphal East (Manipur), June 15 (ANI): In the aftermath of the devastating violence that claimed the lives of nine innocent civilians on June 14, Imphal East district witnessed widespread protests. The streets were flooded with demonstrators as people from Bamon Leikai, Wangkhei, and Kongba areas blocked roads in a show of solidarity. To bring the situation under control, a large contingent of the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Assam Rifles (AR), and state police promptly intervened. In response to the escalating tensions, the state government extended the curfew and extended the internet ban until June 15. The Imphal East jurisdiction has experienced a series of violent incidents over the past few days.
