I am Der Geher and today I am on a rather unknown lookout point in Hamburg. The energy mountain Georgswerder. From the information center it goes the long way up to the 40m high mountain. At the top is a horizon path installed from which the view goes to the city of Hamburg. At the end it goes the stairs back to the parking lot. Initially, the area was used for agriculture. After the war, building rubble was dumped here and later domestic and industrial waste was added. The operation of the landfill was abandoned in 1979 and in the following years it was sealed more and more. This work was completed in 1995 and the resulting hill was planted. As part of the International Building Exhibition Hamburg in 2013, the mountain was redesigned. There is now an information center and the 900m-long Horizon Trail, which runs at one level slightly below the summit. In addition, four wind turbines (together 2,650kW) and a solar plant (902kWp) now generate energy here.
