Filmed in December of 2019. Not too long after the saw-off test session where we watched Cousin Gary's 088 have go against Mr. Carsten's 880. This is the previously posted video on this channel -    • Cousin Gary's 088 vs Mr.  Carsten's 880   I managed to get a "few seconds" come free and was able to finalize my 084. What we watched here is the second & third light off of the 084 for actually sawing. Not spinning her up to terribly high as I stayed under the 14K mark. The weight! 24 vs. 26 pounds - huge. Easily felt. Once adding a long bar enter some bad ground, and a guy would be pretty willing to trade the 880 in for the "old" 084. Anyone that's had a 60" or 72" bar spooned on one of these knows full well what I'm talking about here. And it starts Thursday about mid-day..... As mentioned, complete rebuild on the 084. The 880 has the advantage of being run exponentially more than the 084 at this point. I had been playing around with the 880 in the R&D process "tweaking" things and then using it. I wouldn't say it broken in full. I would say the 880 has more than enough run time to have started to "loosen up" internally. This is the first look at an 084 before & after the Torque Tweak was installed with no other changes/mods. Filmed on two days that were as close as you are going to get meteorologically speaking. I had the test sessions during the same times of day too. The second test sawing with the Torque Tweak added into the mix netted more of the big knot coming into play during the 084's cookie cutting runs. Still picks up a respectable reduction of time. Levels of tune : Mr. Carsten's ms880 has the Insane-O SS zippkit, triple ported muffler. My 084 has the Psy-Ko level zippkit, torque tweak, duel ported. As mentioned, the 084 is at a pretty big disadvantage flow wise at both ends of the flow process. Still manages a respectable showing here. Looking at the run times: My 084 @13,920 wot went 10.90 down running 10,800, and 11.40 running 9,600 up Carsten 880 @ 13,560 wot went 9.50 down running 10,320, and 9.1 running 9,960 up My Torque Tweaked 084 @13,440 wot went 8.64 down (sawed out) running 9,360, 10.16 down running 9,240, and 10.55 up running 9,240 up So without any other modifications we see that the Torque Tweaked 084 picks up almost a second both up and down. I tuned the 084 for torque in the build parameters. This attribute would be more noticeable with a 50" or 60" bar. We will actually get to see that aspect at a later date. I'm well pleased with both saws at this point. Further alterations on the 084 helped it perform better as we shall see in the future. I'm currently available for custom saw modifications.
