The headmaster of the Wudang Dragongate Kungfu School in Wudang, Master Wang practicing his fali skills and fajin movements, Those explosive movements are executed extremely fast and aslo known as internal exploding powers of wudang and its traditional internal daoist martial arts and kungfu. The scenes where shot in a deep valley below the five dragon palace and on the golden top of Wudangshan. A little background about 发力 Fali: • Translation: Fali simply means emit energy, force or power. 发 Fa "emit" or "send" and 力 "energy, power, force". • Origin: It derives striaght from internal daoist kungfu which in its long history and even until today has got the biggest and most original cultural roots and community located in the holy daoist mountains of wudangshan in hubei province, China. Animal attacks are always fast. The are no animals that attack slowly. Therefore the daoists that always loved to get their inspiration from nature tried to copy animal attacks and their typical use of force, which is always vivid, explosive and impressive. Unlike Taiji (Taichi) practice looks slow mostly, but only to nurture the body, improve balance and strength and to safe passive body structures through smooth round and waving movements, attacks in taichi and other internal martial arts are fast like those of animals. • Use: They aim to be mostly unpredictable, unseen and surprising. Overwhelming the opponent with speed is one important aspect. • Levels: there are three main level from pure physical stirke on level one, to half internal qi strikes on level two all the way to level three in which stirkes loose their physical aspect to only hurt pressure points with qi transmission alone. • Training: you have to get relaxed first, try to get access to the passive relfexes of your body by letting loose during the fast execution of your strikes, after that get faster and more loose. Later on you should be able to consciously control your strikes exactly in length and speed and also be able to control your passive reflexes as well. Would you like to read more about Fali?
