A very Bobs Christmas: Ris a la Ale
Once again Mikkel Bjergsø has made his way to Bobs Hytte to try his luck with the Great Mikkeller X-mas Calendar, by drinking it all in one day. At his side through this liquid Christmas adventure is Peder from Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri, and together they will journey through 24 wonderful brews from all around the world! 17th of December: Ris a la Ale - Mikkeller Ris a la Ale is based on the Danish dessert Risalamande. It’s a traditional Christmas dish composed of rice pudding with whipped cream, vanilla, chopped almonds and topped with cherry sauce. The beer is at 8%, but it feels pretty light considering the ABV. The cherries make the beer very fruity in the taste. The lactose gives it a rounder and creamier feeling, along with some sweetness. The sweet taste from the lactose is accompanied with some fruity sweetness from the cherries.
