We are so pumped to have Grammy Award winning Los TexManiacs at The Fallout Shelter along with one of their original members...our own Willie J Laws Jr.!!! This is going to be a cultural event like no other we've hosted in the past. Los TexManiacs are fronted by the great Max Baca who has appeared on 10 Grammy Winning albums has toured with The Rolling Stones and was an original member of The Texas Tornados featuring the great Doug Sahm, Flaco Jiminez and Freddy Fender. His pedigree in the Tejano music community is unmatched. Max is a legend on the bajo sexto, a twelve string guitar-like instrument which customarily provides rhythm accompaniment to the button accordion thus creating the "conjunto' sound. But in the hands of Max Baca the instrument is used to push the TexManiacs sound to a new vibrancy altogether. His virtuosity and blistering guitar riff style is emulated by baja sexto players around the globe. Los TexManiacs have been to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and more entertaining the troops and have appeared on Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, Jay leno and Austin City Limits as well as The Kennedy Center and countless festivals around the world. To see true legends of Tex-Mex music in the intimacy of the Fallout Shelter will be something you will never forget. The Fallout Shelter is an all ages 100-seat performance venue and state-of-the-art broadcast and recording studio, offering one of the most unique live music experiences in New England. Located in Norwood, MA, just 15 miles from Boston, The Fallout Shelter is run under the auspices of the Grass Roots Cultural and Performing Arts Center, a registered Massachusetts 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization on a mission to preserve and promote live music by operating an inclusive performing arts center that offers diverse musical experiences to both local and online communities.
