Buses in Zaandam. These buses were temporarily, because of the late livery of new electric VDL Citea LE-122 & VDL Citea LE-135 buses. The operator in Zaandam is EBS (Egged Bus Systems), and started on the 10th of December 2023. The contract of Connexxion ended on that same day and 25 VDL Ambassadors were sold to EBS. Also 23 BVG Citea’s. And in Waterland the contract of EBS (2011-2023) ended too, and the OmniLink’s and Scania Higers were still in service. The Scania Higers went out of service in May 2024, the buses drove on lines such as 270. Those lines don’t drive on weekends so those aren’t unfortunately in this video. Minibuses already got replaced in the start with VDL MidCity buses and also Tribus Civitas with a Volkswagen Crafter chassis. Most of the Ambassadors went out of service in June-July 2024 and now a few are left. 4133 & 4141 got scrapped after accidents. The BVG Citea’s are also mostly out of service just like the Scania OmniLinks. Most of the out of service BVG Citea’s are exported, for the OmniLinks probably too.
